Young and Richards is an Auckland based practice that brings together the collective experience of Harriet Compton Richards, Elvon Young and Bruce Stephen Young. The Young and Richards team is a rich collision of cultures, research, technology, and sustainability with a commitment to design as a facilitating methodology. Established in 2007 and based in Auckland, the company thrives working in both a macro and a micro scale, current projects include sustainable master planning in Fiji, sustainable residential development work in Taipei and diverse commercial and residential projects locally in New Zealand. We have developed a broad approach to architecture and design, operating between the worlds of education, art, product design and architecture. Our practice is about offering our clients clarity and confidence throughout the design and building process. We are inclusive and collaborative, we love what we do. We listen and celebrate the lives and sites our buildings link. We draw inspiration from the world of art and the avant-garde, the natural and the digital, our lives and your life. Our projects combine nature with sophistication, tradition with abstraction, high craft with high tech, the whitest whites with the richest colours. The practice currently has a staff of 9.
